A Guest Lecture on Application of Discrete Fourier Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform in Image Processing was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for the third year students on 27.01.2023 (Friday) between 11:00 am to 11:50 am. Dr. S. Saravana Kumar, Assistant Professor/ S&H, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore was the resource person for this event. Students from third year EEE attended the event. He started the lecture asking the students about the basics of image processing. The students actively answered the questions asked by the resource person. He shared the basics of Discrete Fourier Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform. The resource person highlighted the significance of DFT and DWT in image processing. Also, he emphasized how these technologies can be implemented using MATLAB for processing digital images. This guest lecture helped students to learn the subject in the perspective of its applications and encouraged research.
