International Faculty Development Programme (Online mode) on “Recent Trends in Semiconductor Industry and its Impact on VLSI Design”

 Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology has organized an International Faculty Development Programme (Online mode) on “Recent Trends in Semiconductor Industry and its Impact on VLSI Design” between 16.11.2023 to 22.11.2023. Venue was at Seminar Hall 1 of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology. Dr.S.Anila,HOD/ECE proposed the inaugural address on 16.11.2023.She highlighted the importance of VLSI domain for Semiconductor industries. The resource person for this program and their session details are as follows.

1.      Dr. Gunasekaran Thangavel, Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Section, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

He highlighted various on chip Antenna for mm Wave/THz Applications.

2.      Dr. Arun Sekar R, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, SR University, Warangal, Telangana. He has given clear concepts on Block chain Integration in VLSI Design. He also highlighted various semiconductor Industry trends for enhanced security and efficiency.

3.      Dr.A.N.Jayanthi, Associate Professor/ECE, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology. She presented various performance enhancements of VLSI Adders including BCD adder, Error tolerant adder, Carry select adder, Carry save adder and Variable Latency design style adders.

4.      Mr. R.S.Venkatachalam, Managing Director, Wizard System, Coimbatore. He presented real time semiconductor impacts and various challenges in industry.

5.      Mr.S.Munaf, AP (Sr.Gr)/ECE, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology. His session covered concepts on Coarse Grained VLSI architecture.

6.      Dr. K.Gavaskar, Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, Core Engineer at Fabulous Heidelberg University, Germany. He presented an eFPGA and Physical Design Implementation using open Source

7.      Dr. A. Karthikeyan, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore. He gave a precise importance of Testing of VLSI Circuits.

8.      Dr. M. Thillai Rani, Associate Professor, Department of ECE,Sri Krishna College of Technology,Coimbatore.She presented a session comprising of  concepts on System on Chip(SoC)  in the Next Generation Electronics.

9.      Dr.L.Malathi, AP (Sr.Gr)/ECE, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology. She highlighted various VLSI Multipliers for DSP Applications.

Dr.A.N.Jayanthi, Associate Professor/ECE welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons for all sessions.Mr.S.Munaf, Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr) /ECE proposed the vote of thanks for 5 sessions. Dr.L.Malathi. Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr) /ECE proposed the vote of thanks for the remaining sessions. 36 faculty members from various Engineering colleges of Tamilnadu and Karnataka participated in this FDP.12 internal faculty members also attended the programme. They interacted with the resource person and got benefited
