SRIT AICTE IDEA LAB

The main goal of IDEA Lab is to transform engineering education and to help students become more innovative. The IDEA Lab aims to achieve high standards to focus on the vision of a 'Skilled India’. Youth can be motivated to gain more skills.This lab can be used to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global partnership for Sustainable development.
AICTE-IDEA Labs are being established in engineering colleges to help students develop their creative and problem-solving skills. These labs will provide students with the resources they need to turn their ideas into prototypes.
IDEA Labs will have a wide range of equipment and tools, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and electronics kits. Students will be able to use these resources to design and build their own projects.
In addition to providing technical skills, IDEA Labs will also help students develop 21st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Students will be encouraged to work together on projects and to present their work to others.

VISION

The vision of IDEA Lab is to improve Science & Engineering education for students and teachers by implementing the most important practices and trends in engineering field. This also meets the need of rural communities and enhancing the skill based learning of educators and engineering students. The IDEA Lab is designed to provide a platform for students to conceptualize and develop their ideas into sustainable projects and startups.

The lab aims to create an environment that is conducive to the development of new ideas and the creation of new ventures for the benefit of students. Additionally, the SRIT AICTE IDEA Lab will provide students with the resources and support they need to turn their ideas into successful projects and startups.

Rural students can be motivated by providing hands on training/Workshops in 3D printing, Green Water, Green Energy etc., IDEA Lab helps SRIT students to get aligned with National and International initiatives.

The SRIT AICTE IDEA Lab will organise various programs and events throughout the year, including workshops, hackathons, and incubation programs, to encourage students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship activities. Additionally, the IDEA Lab will offer funding and resources for students to turn their ideas into prototypes and test them in the market.

1. AICTE Idea Lab Tech Fest – 2025 was conducted at AICTE, New Delhi on 07.03.2025 - Dr.A.N.Jayanthi and Mr.R.Immanual attended the event
2. ATAL AICTE IDEA LAB, Basic Faculty Development Program (FDP) was conducted between 17th to 21st March 2025 at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Center for Post-Graduation Studies, Muddenahalli, Chikballapur District, Karnataka – 562101 for the Coordinators and Co- Coordinators of IDEA Lab. - Dr.A.N.Jayanthi and Dr.S.Benjamin Franklin attended the event
3. AICTE IDEA Lab Chief Mentors Conclave 2025 was conducted on 25.04.2025 / 26.04.2025 at D Y Patil International University (DYPIU), located in Akurdi, Pune. - Mr.R.Immanual attended the event
