Online guest lecture on “Application Security”

The Department of Information Technology organised an online guest lecture on “Application Security” for the Third year IT students . The guest lecture was organised to complement the contents of the course Cryptography and Network Security. Ms Celine George, CISSP, CEH was the resource person. The lecture provided an insight into the basics of information and application security. The resource person provided an outline of the classification of various applications and how security plays a major role in each category. She also demonstrated a few OWASP Top 10 Web Security vulnerabilities namely SQL injection and XSS to the students. The resource person concluded the lecture with the wide opportunities and certification available in the domain of Cybersecurity, their importance and scope, to the students. Further, she clarified the questions raised by the students.
