IGS Students Chapter, Department of Civil Engineering of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology had organized a One Day Workshop on “Geotechnical Investigation for Typical Soil Conditions”.The Resource Person, Er.P.Karthikeyan, Assistant Engineer, Highways Department, Coimbatore addressed the gathering. The participants gained a good source of knowledge about geotechnical investigations carried out for shallow and deep foundations at the site. He shared his experience with pile foundation in detail. As an outcome of the workshop, the students prepared models of various types of foundations.
