A One day hands-on workshop titled “Chip Level testing and debugging for smartphones and Tablets” was organized by the IEEE student chapter on 09.02.2023 from 3.30 to 4.30 pm. The resource person for this workshop is Mr. B. Krishna Kumar, Managing Director, New Technology Mobile Service, and Technology -Coimbatore. Dr. S. Mary Praveena, Associate Professor, of the Department of ECE welcomed the resource person, and Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, Assistant Professor of, ECE Department Introduced the Chief Guest to the Audience. Hands-on workshop training that covers all the skills required to repair the mobile handsets was taught to the students. He also explained Materials Science, Bipolar junction transistors and their biasing, identified different types of mobile cell phones and their components, Tools, and instruments used in mobile phone repairing, Basic Circuit Board/ Motherboard fault checking, Soldering & DE soldering Components using different soldering tools. There are fifty-five students from both the second-year ECE and EEE departments participated in this workshop. Ms. M. Prabha Maheswari, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE delivered the vote of thanks. This program was very useful for the students and this workshop enriched the students to remove the CCFL tube from the LCD, Methods of testing and solve hard disk-related problems from the chip-level Mobile service.
