Health Awareness Programme

A Health Awareness Programme was organized in association with Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore on 11.09.2018 at our college premises. The resource person for the session Dr Krishna Shankar G, MD, General Medicine- Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, delivered a Lecture on the topic Teenage Obesity, Thyroid Hormone Exercise problems. He briefed about the abdominal obesity, elevated serum triglycerides glucose, increased blood pressure, and reduced levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and psychological benefits for the students. He also briefed the technique for Physical activity classified as low or not low. Low physical activity was defined as 150 min or less of moderately intense exercise per week or 75 min or less of highly intense exercise per week. One Fifty students of Mechanical Engineering department of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology and staff members also participated in this programme. This programme was very useful for the student and this awareness programme enriched the students to protect their health for a peaceful living.
